Diabetes Drug Liraglutide “Better Than Orlistat Or Placebo For Weight Loss”
The daily injection of liraglutide – the last incretin drugs for the treatment of diabetes – is the best at promoting weight loss than orlistat or placebo with diet and exercise, a new study has found.

Liraglutide was found that in order to reduce the weight of 2.2-4.4 kg more than placebo over 20 weeks, and up to 3.1 kg more than orlistat, depending on the dose.
The study showed that 76% of people over 5% of body weight lost at the highest doses of liraglutide compared to 30% of those who received placebo and 44% of respondents, orlistat.
In addition, weight loss, patients, liraglutide has been a reduction in waist circumference on average 6,6-7,1 cm, achieved at the highest dose (3.0 mg) – the same as the ‘orlistat. They lower blood pressure and lower frequencies pre-diabetes.
However, liraglutide, participants had a much higher rate of nausea and vomiting side effects. They were described as transient mild to moderate European researchers, including Professor Michael Lean of Glasgow University.
