Obesity, Diabetes, Heart Failure, The Risk Of Fuel
Two epidemics of obesity and type 2 diabetes will fuel an explosion in heart failure, the researchers suggest, Scotland.
John McMurray, professor of cardiology at the Western Infirmary in Glasgow, Scotland, said about a third of patients with heart failure have evidence of diabetes, and the prospects of them are very serious and the effectiveness of treatment is very complex.”
McMurray said obesity is not only associated with an increased risk of heart attack, but, with an increased risk of heart failure.
“Obesity is at least one major risk factor for heart failure, because it is a heart attack or stroke,” said McMurray, in a statement. “Obesity has more than doubled the risk.”
On the way by the fact that obesity plays an important role in the heart are not yet fully understood, but it has been shown that the indirect effect of hypertension, myocardial infarction or diabetes – and a direct effect on the heart muscle itself said McMurray.
This statement was made in the heart of the refusal of Congress in Nice, France.
